What’s new indeed

So, there have been a number of changes around here.

  • I’ve switched from default numeric posting names to ‘named and dated’ events.
  • I’ve attempted to start using LiveWriter again, which can be a challenge when you find a complicated manual process of editing files directly to be so much more appealing!
  • I’ve added some additional blogs, with some more to come.
    • Primarily filling out my fellow Microsoft folksies, special respect to Dan Rey, Ariel, and the new Microsoft Beta Blog (Thanks Trika!)
    • I’ll be adding a number of NetApp blogs for some good close friends and folks who have a lot of indepth knowledge to share, and read respectively!
  • I’ve taken some additional betas and will be providing further obscure "non-violating NDA" details of the exams in depth
  • I have a number of broken things, which I haven’t been bothered to fix such as ATOM RSS feeders, carriage returns for that "ShareThis" app – and who knows what other SEO violations I may be under!

I think that is a fair coverage of some changes that have occurred – As for things to come:

  • Indepth posting of Exams, Certifications, Betas – Who takes them, who should, how you can be that person, and being a master on a novices diet.
  • Performance assaults, differences, metrics and other insanity
  • Super cool NetAppy stuff, the likes of which will shock and amaze you
    • (Yet, you’ll eventually be of the understanding as I am – of accepting that as how things OUGHT to be ;))
  • More CWUG Updates! Yea you heard me!
  • More Beta exams and Post-Mortems, and perhaps a review of tests of the past.
  • And perhaps insight into the mind of a Pekingese!

See you soon!

Chicago is where the heart is

I get a lot of emails, asking me if I am now based out of North Carolina.

So, to set the record straight. No, I’m back home in Chicago (though at home sick today).
I was merely in North Carolina for work for a bit, and had some time to update.

So, I am alive, home, well (and well, sick)
Oh, and today is my birthday, so Happy Birthday to me! :)

I have some additional posts queued up, but those will wait until I’m not as sick.

Free screensharing application? Where do I sign up! (Crossloop)

You get a phone call “Help! I have some odd situation, and no matter how I describe it to you, you do not understand what I am telling you”

Oh my! what ever can we do. Well, we can use Livemeeting… hmm, they don’t have that installed. Hey, go install VNC and open a bunch of ports in the firewall, k? okay, that won’t do it. How about WebEx? err.. I don’t have a WebEx Account.

I wish we had some kind of option which was point to point with an easy to install and deploy option! oh my! what ever shall we do!

… In walks Crossloop!

In seconds, you’ll be sharing your screen (or they’ll be sharing it) so you can fix their problem, or see their problem. Hooray!

“The Shaving…!”

Well, “The shaving” happened this weekend.

Willie Nelson

No.. not THAT shaving!

No, the shaving of my head to raise money for Cancer research, treatment and cures for children with Cancer with the St. Baldricks Foundation.

Some of you may not know this, but my very mother was afflicted with cancer. She received treatment which removed the cancer from her body, however the follow-up treatment is what got her. She didn’t die from the cancer itself, but from her body being in a frail state following what was required to treat it, to prevent any future recurrance. That being said, she would have done a lot better off not getting treated in the first place, sadly.

If this kind of thing can happen to an adult, quite extended in their life, imagine what similar treatment does to children who haven’t had the opportunity to build up the rigor and strength to fend off this kind of bodily afflicting treatment.

Your $$’s will help to discover new and better treatment (hopefully even the cell resonance cancer treatment! :))

Thank you.
